Roots of Christian Mysticism - Session 4 Roots in the Desert By Kim Nataraja

Product Description

The foundation of Christian contemplative prayer is to be found in the Scriptures, but the 4th century CE saw a flowering of this way of prayer in the Egyptian desert primarily. Evagrius is one of the most important teachers in this tradition and Cassian followed in his footsteps. We will look at both and distill the essence of their guidance relevant to us today.

Kim Nataraja is a WCCM Benedictine Oblate and Director of The School of Meditation. She leads retreats worldwide and is a Spiritual Director. She edited and co-authored Journey to the Heart - Christian Contemplation through the Centuries - an illustrated Guide (Canterbury Press) which was based on the first Roots course held in 2003.
